So finally! Here are some snaps of our finished house. We've been living in it for 7 months and LOVE it. This house works like it was designed to work. It's cool and there's always a breeze to keep the air fresh. The downstairs living area is open and comfortable and, just like Sharon says under one of the photographs, we walk out and jump in the pool at least twice a day. When we moved in last winter we used the pool heater for the months of December thru February so it made no difference that the outside temperature wasn't 85 degrees. Our kitchen is a dream to work in and the fact that we splurged to have a water purification system making all tap water potable allows us to have an ice maker in our fridge. And we use a lot of ice! Upstairs both bedrooms feel really spacious and the guest room has, so far, been visited by these friends: Wolfgang Collins from Taos, Ani and David Sharp from Santa Rosa, Steven Cole & Stephen Penning from Ajijic and, all the way from Maui, Calvin Wada. We'll probably never know if it's true or not but way back when we were in the design phase of this project, Christine said we were building the house because Oatmeal (our cat) needed a stable home. Well, he's got it. We are truly and properly grateful for this place and are enjoying it to the max one day or less at a time. THE END!!!

 We begin to get local mangos in April. Then the season seriously begins and they are everywhere, very inexpensive and every one who has a tree is trying to give them away. |
